Cancer is a huge challenger and very often it is an answer to a sense of failure:

Penny Brohn Cancer Support:  ‘Why our immune system needs support”:

An essential part of supporting our body to heal is rest and relaxation. Many of us know that it is important, but . understanding why we can really support  us to take extra care and effort to ensure we are making time for it.”

CANCER SURVIVORS’ SUPPORT JOURNAL

The Immune System is strengthened in many way, so we need to keep a dialogue of results, research and affordable life-style for our situation.

HOW CREATIVE JOURNAL EXPRESSIVE ARTS CAN HELP:

THIS FOCUSES ON THE DEEPEST NEED FOR THE RECOVERY OF OUR NEED FOR GOOD PARENTING. ACCESSING OUR OWN PARENT ARCHETYPE WITHIN US.

LEARNING TO PLAY:

Clia Vision Coaching is a way of self counselling playfully through expressive arts. Through picturing and accepting these natural ‘inner conversations’ we become more playful and accepting of life’s challenges.

Hidden perplexities of our lives can become healed, and turn into our best friend.  Using expressive arts, in the form of free expression and both handed dialogue, these unacknowledged questions can be recreated with colour, scribbling, sketching and stick-figures. This way, Creative Journal introduces us to our ‘inner vulnerable child’, the elusive memories that avoid our attention, and those childhood disappointments can be turned into personal inner wisdom and forgiveness.

VISION COLLAGE – learning to relax, become more playful and dream some more:

Unconsciously we may continue to wonder:  Why did the life I wanted to live vanish mysteriously?  Time to make a picture of that childhood dream and heart’s desire.  Along with this picture, we may use mats to project ahead to steps we can take that bring us support, challenge and deeper interaction with others.

This is storytelling through pictures and mats which represent our inner selves. The vision, the obstacles, the aspects of inner selves at work.

Mat-work

Constellation mat-work is a way of planning forward through the months or years ahead, unravelling protective, challenging, nurturing or collaborative aspects of ‘dream-time’ group-work.

Come and help this aspect of ‘storytelling forward’ for working with common visions of your ‘dream-team’.

These are aspects which are noted in our journal forward, and include a ‘body scan’ to discover the deeper seated emotions.

Vesica Vision Board.

On a Vesica Vision Board: Circle 1: represents present time; Circle 2: future time; and the central vesica overlap of circles represents the journey from now to the future vision.

The Vesica is a geometric visionary diagram that synthesises opposites into a new creation.  This fusion of elements could relate to the way earth provides the elementals of earth, air, fire and rock in order to grow new seed plants.

The Seed Cycle:

How nature grows a plant is the same process that we ‘grow’ our inner light and life cycle.

Tuning into our spiritual centre: we are an immersing light of consciousness, being sown in the cycle of the ’creative seeds’ seasons of growth…. An increasing radiance of inner light which is the source of our creative vision and its stages of sprouting, rooting, budding, flowering and finally releasing an inner light to the world.

THE WHEEL OF LIFE:

Each month of the year has been depicted as having ‘creative stages’ of growth and learning of us as individuals. These archetypes have been handed down from millennia, and correspond to mythology, psychology and astrophysics.  The aim in life is to realize the power of our own heart’s desire.

Peter Dawkins’ draft – re-crafted by Caroline Danby 2016

The seasons of the year as a ‘round table’ of creative qualities emerging within each of us. These are also challenges from life situations that help us draw upon our inner wisdom and understanding.  There are no mistakes in life, only a path of realization of these highly desirable qualities.

GROUP SUPPORT

Group vision collage:

Group vision as a collective mandala, with each participant lighting a candle of commitment to THEIR HEART’S desire.

Creating your own CANCER SURVIVORS’ ‘DREAM TEAM’ is a source of encouragement and clarification for our personal vision.

OTHER ACTIVITIES:

Activities to recognise your inner parent and inner child:

  • Draw yourself as a child.
  • Draw your ‘inner parent’ – is it a severe challenger?
  • Draw the ‘inner nurturing parent’ you wish you could have had.
Is it hidden behind disappointing memories?
  • Reconnect with your heart’s desire, and begin to feed that optimism and shared experience with your support group.
